Jake Edey has been fascinated with motorbikes from a very young age. With both parents winning national and international jet ski titles, winning is in his blood.
Having raced since the age of 6 Jake has always shown talent and promise, he is now 16 years of age and through the years he has struggled with injuries often missing out on some well deserved titles even though he had won against some of the best youth riders in the country on several occasions.
However 2015 has been a strong season in his career, Jake says " I feel I have made some very mature decisions dedicating myself to motocross and making the commitments and sacrifices needed to succeed in this demanding sport, I have been focused on the motocross track but also with keeping on track with my studies. I am fortunate to have had the support of a personal trainer in the evenings after my school work to maintain a high level of fitness. Weekends have seen me practicing when not racing and even with this demanding schedule I know my studies are important, a fact demonstrated by passing all nine of my GCSE exams this year at grade A to C."
For someone so young Jake's achievements over 2015 are impressive, the beach race at Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, near Boulogne-sur-Mer, in the Pas-de-Calais region of northern France is commonly referred to as Le Touquet. The race was formerly known as "Enduro des Sables" and considered the most challenging beach race in the world by the sports experts, it pits the best regional riders against leading competitors from across the world and was renamed "Enduropale/Quaduro" in 2005 when the course was shortened and races introduced for quad bikes and young riders. Over 250 young riders aged 13 to 17 took part in the open youth class in 2015 in front of 300,000 spectators and Jake rode to an impressive 5th position.
Add to that 2nd place overall in the open MXY2 at the GT Cup Nationals, 6th Overall in the British Youth Nationals, 5th Overall in the Pirelli Masters Nationals and 13th Overall in the adult Class at the Weston Super Mare beach race. and we believe we are looking at a future champion
